A memorial celebration of life for Martha A. Harris, 82, formerly of Raymonde Cir., Ormond Beach, who passed away Nov. 9, 2012, will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill. A native of Chicago, Mrs. Harris moved to this area from her birth place in 1960. She was a retired registered nurse and director of surgery in the former Peninsula Medical Center. Mrs. Harris had been a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, an active member of the Junior League of Daytona Beach and served as the first girl scout leader in the Ormond Beach area in St. Brendans Church. Martha was a faithful and grateful member of Alcoholic Anonymous and gave tirelessly of her time. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations be made to Volusia Co. Intergroup Services, 1635 S. Ridgewood Ave. Suite 107, South Daytona, FL 32119. Martha is survived by two daughters, Michelle Harris (Eric) and Lynn Seay (Ralph), both of Holly Hill; a son, Richard Harris (Kathryn), Gainesville, FL, three grandchildren, Ashley Shackleford, Melissa Seay and Austin Seay; and one great- grandchild, Tristen, A sister-in-law Nancy Collins and her family, Marblehead, MA. The family would also like to greatly acknowledge Ardith and Kenny Moore for the compassionate care they showed to their mother and a special thanks to all those at Clairbridge.
