Michael Norman Beeghly, age 59, of DeLand, passed away quietly on November 15th. He was born in Miami and attended Rockville Community College in Maryland. He worked with Collis Roofing first as a roofer, then utilizing his organizational skills, as supervisor of the north and central Florida regions. Devoting his time and energy to children, he was a Boy Scout leader, but his greatest joy was serving as a certified Little League Umpire. He loved working with his hands. He was a perfectionist in all his projects, be it carpentry, cars, or inventions, and in his tireless devotion to helping others. As a self-taught musician of many years, he especially loved playing Bluegrass on his fiddle, harmonica and guitar. He is survived by his beloved, Dottie Hahn; son Devin; daughter Kelsey; sister, Noreen and extended family; brother, Steven and his wife, Linda. He had specified his desire that his body be donated to medical science in hope of finding a cure for cancer. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, 386-775-4260 on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 am and service at 12:00 noon, followed by refreshments at the funeral home.
