Michael Norman Beeghly, age 59, of DeLand, passed away quietly on November 15th. He was born in Miami and attended Rockville Community College in Maryland. Devoting his time and energy to children, he was a Boy Scout leader, but his greatest joy was serving as a certified Little League Umpire. He loved working with his hands. He was a perfectionist in all his projects, be it carpentry, cars, or inventions, and in his tireless devotion to helping others. As a self-taught musician of many years, he especially loved playing Bluegrass on his fiddle, harmonica and guitar. He is survived by his beloved, Dottie Hahn; son Devin; daughter Kelsey; sister, Noreen and extended family; brother, Steven and his wife, Linda. He had specified his desire that his body be donated to medical science in hope of finding a cure for cancer.
