Michelle Moncrief Lowe, 58, passed away Nov. 8, 2012. She was born in Nashville and moved to Winter park at the age of 2. Her 2 passions besides her family were horses and music. She raised and trained horses since her early 20's and she played in numerous bands for 40 yrs. She toured the southeast with her first band Brouhaha for 6yrs before returning to Gainesville where she played for several yrs. with Autumn and then with Jane Yii. She met her husband Steve while playing with Jane and soon after moved to Flagler Beach to raise her 2 children Rebecca 28 and James 23 to whom she passed on both her musical talent and her love of animals. She has performed with the folk / acoustic band The Ashley Gang for the last 15 yrs. playing at folk festival and numerous concerts to benefit the environment and other worthy causes. She has performed at the Florida Folk Festival with longtime freind and musical partner Joe Mark for the last 34 yrs. Michelle is preceded on her journey by her father Walter and brother Micheal. She is survived by her mother Lillian Cook Moncieff; her husband Steve; and her two children Becky and Jamie. There will be a memorial service held 2pm Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Florida Ag Museum, 7900 Old Kings Road, Palm Coast 386 496 7630.
