Funeral Services for Mrs. Ollie Blackwell, 84, New Smyrna Beach, will be 10 AM, today (Saturday, April 27, 2013) at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Harley, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Glencoe-Geiger Cemetery. Calling hours are from 8:30 AM until service time at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church today (Sat., April 27, 2013). On February 22, 1929 Ollie Mae Blackwell was welcomed into this life by her parents Tommie Lee and Virginia Holmes in Arkansas. She has two sisters Lillie Ringer and Bertha Baker; 3 brothers that preceded her in death M. C. Holmes, Andrew Holmes and Alfred Holmes. In 1952 she married Tommie Lee Blackwell who preceded her in death. They were married 60 years and to their union 10 sons were born. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed her. Her Book of Life has been completed. The Lord placed a period at the end of his final chapter on Monday, April 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by a son: Jerry Blackwell. She leaves to cherish her memories: sons: Andrew (Delisa) Blackwell, Park Forest, Illinois, Tommie Blackwell, Jr., Eugene (Windy) Blackwell, Clarence Blackwell, Richard Blackwell, all of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Lee Butler, Melvin and Alvin Blackwell, all of Moro, Arkansas, Johnnie Blackwell, Daytona Beach, Florida; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Bertha Baker and Lillie Ringer, both of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
