Richard Garriott Yunt, age 83, of Port Orange, Florida died on Friday, December 28, 2012. Richard was born in Battle Creek, MI on February 22, 1929 the son of Willis A. Yunt and Lucia A. (Garriott) Yunt. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and the General Motors Institute and held various positions as a machinist and worked in Heavy Duty Repair for Grand Trunk Western Railroad where he retired in 1992. On July 11, 1981 he was united in marriage to Janeis L. Yunt who survives. He is also survived by his daughter Kristina and Stephen Smith of Battle Creek, MI; son Gary and Donna TerBerg of Las Vegas, Nevada; son Mike and Brenda Wood of Lebanon, Tennessee; a sister Janet Motsinger of Rotunda, Florida. He is survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sheri Staib in 1995. Dick and Jan moved from Battle Creek, Michigan in 1995 to Port Orange, Florida where they have resided twenty years. Dick was an active member of the Elks Lodge #2723, Eagles Lodge #4469, Eagles Lodge #4089, Moose Lodge #2516, Amvets Lodge #911 and American Legion #270. He currently held the position of secretary at the Eagles Lodge #4469. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Eagles Lodge #4469 in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. A graveside service is planned in Battle Creek, Michigan in the summer of 2013.
