Robert Edward Snyder, age 94, passed away on November 13, 2012 at Holly Hill, FL. He was born July 13, 1918 in Auburn, NE. He had a long and distinguished career as an educator, both in the classroom and as an administrator. He taught 3 1/2 years in Kansas before joining the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served in Guadalcanal and New Caledonia. With further study at Iowa State University, he was offered work in Jackson Michigan Junior College where he became one of the founding fathers, an assistant to the president. He also served as Vice President of Jackson Community College. He retired after 30 years and was declared Vice President emeritus. With retirement, Bob, along with his wife, Janet, moved to Florida. He enjoyed playing the piano, collecting antiques, square dancing, and knitting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Verna Snyder in Nebraska, and his son, Barry Snyder, in 2010. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Janet Marise (Hafer) Snyder; son, Craig (Cindy Lee) Snyder; grandsons, Eric (Grand Rapids) and Robert (Charlotte). There will be no services.
