Vivian Maddrey, 93, passed away May 3, 2013. She was the daughter of Mattie Butler Twine. Mrs. Vivian Maddrey was born January 26, 1920 in Daytona Beach, Florida. She resided in Newark, New Jersey for many years. Vivian was a beautician by trade and she was a savvy business woman. Upon retiring in 1982, she returned to Daytona Beach to care for her ailing mother. Vivian took pride in her demeanor. She was always impeccably dressy. She had a creative spirit. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Thomas Maddrey; devoted goddaughter, Gerri Hellams of Middletown, DE; sisters-in-law, Lessie Maddrey, Cornelia Maddrey, Frances Sessoms and Louise Maddrey of Wilmington, DE; one brother-in-law, Walter Maddrey of Wilmington, DE; and her appointed children from God, Harold and Cathy Hayward. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 in the chapel at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Herbert Thompson Funeral Home.
