Walter "Pops" Beddard, 72, of Port Orange, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona beginning in the Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. Walter was born on March 9, 1941 in Trenton, North Carolina to the late Dorothy (Wells) and Walter L. Beddard. He was a United States Army Veteran where he proudly served for six years. Pops established Walts Automotive in 1983 a small local business in Daytona Beach that he ran for over thirty years, he also ran a small landscaping business. Pops was a strong man, hard worker, talented gardener, skilled fisherman, and incredible cook. Pops taught his children and grandchildren to work hard and enjoy work, and to never be ashamed of who you are. His legacy will live on through his family. "Well done thy good and faithful servant". Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Frances E. Beddard; children, Theresa Berry, Timothy Beddard, Steve Beddard; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many extended family members; and friends. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to The Pregnancy Crisis Center, 416 N Ridgewood Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Arrangements are under the entrusted care of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
