Funeral Services for Mr. Warrnon Bell, who peacefully passed away the early morning of April 1, 2013 at Ocean View Nursing Home, will be 3 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Allen Chapel AME Church, 344 Sheldon St, New Smyrna Bch, with Evangelist Theresa Brumfield, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will be 11 AM, Monday, April 8, 2013 in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL. Calling hours are from 5 - 7 PM, Friday (today, April 5) at Mt. Zion CME Church, 901 Enterprise Ave., New Smyrna Bch and from 1:30 PM until service time at the Allen Chapel AME Church on Saturday. Warrnon (Wadley) Bell was born April 6, 1921 in Swainsboro, Ga. He moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in 1926 with his mother and father: Fannie and Gordon Bell. He attended school and received his educational training in the greater New Smyrna area. Warrnon served his country and survived the battle fields of World War II. Warrnon was known for his ability to build and construct homes as he did so well throughout the Westside. He was one of the first non-white engineers on the Florida East Coast Railroad where he worked for 33 years. Warrnon leaves behind his loving wife of 70 years, Oretha Wyche Bell; daughter: Corzet J. Lawrence, New Smyrna Beach: three sons, Warrnon M. Bell (Ana), Sanford, FL, Donald T. Bell (Lucy), Ormond Beach, Rhurl O. Bell (Elizabeth), New Smyrna Beach/Kissimee; extended sons: Earl Green, Willie "Pop" Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends…. Tomorrow, we celebrate his 92nd birthday!!!
