William "Billy" Anderson, 76, of Port Orange, died on January 30, 2009 at Halifax Health Medical Center of Port Orange. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 3 in the Port Orange Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Homes, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Billy was born on February 29, 1932 to the late William and Catherine Anderson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a Firefighter with the City of Philadelphia Fire Department for 21 years until retiring. After retiring, he moved to this area in 1978 where he worked as a bridge tender for 10 years. Billy loved the beach and was an avid reader of the scripture as well as novels. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Mary; children, Patricia, Denise, Florence and Bill; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his two sisters, Alice and Loyola. Billy was preceded in death by his dear sister, Catherine Kissling. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.MeM.com.
