William Barber, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, New York to Roy and May Barber who pre-deceased him. He is survived by two children: William Barber, Jr., Daytona Beach; a daughter Donna Ryan, Port Orange; two grandchildren: Michael Malfitano, Port Orange; Joseph (Andrea) Malfitano, Glencoe, Ill; two great-grandchildren: Gianna and Bryce Malfitano. He is also survived by one sister, Myrtle Biggins, Niagara Falls. He is predeceased by three sisters: Gladys Dillman, Florence Devins, and Violet O'Gorman; four brothers, Charles, Roy, Ritchie, and Frank. William was a Florida resident for 41 years and, along with his wife, ran the Sharing Center in Daytona Beach for 12 years berfore retiring. He was an avid golfer and continued to love the game his whole life. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii (Pacific) during World War II. He was a
"Cannoneer" Anti Aircraft Artillery NCO. He was a member of The American Legion in Niagara Falls his whole life. Gone but not forgotten. Services will be held at a later date.
