Funeral Services for Rev. Willie Sharper, Jr., 87, Daytona Bch, who passed on September 1, 2018, will be 10 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Daytona Deliverance Church of God with Supt. Antonio Ruth, Pastor, Zion Temple COGIC, Palatka, FL officiating. Entombment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park (South). Calling hours were from 5-8 PM yesterday, (Fri, Sept 7) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home with a Wake Service from 6-8PM and from 8:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Rev. Sharper was born on November 15, 1930 to the late Willie and Arlivia Sharper. He was a graduate of the former Campbell St. High School and earned an AA degree in Biological Science from Daytona State College. He was a US Marine Veteran of the Korean War and was formerly employed at Cape Kennedy Space Center and retired from the Daytona Beach Water Treatment Plant after 25 years. He was the former Pastor of Deleon Springs Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Marthenia Sharper; siblings: Samuel, Calvin, James, Isaac, Nathaniel, Theodore, and Kenneth Sharper, Marlene Smith, Arlivia Robinson, Elnora Jackson, Francelia Mitchell; and son-in-law: Alphonzo Roundtree. He is survived by two sons: Calvin Sharper (Rochelle), Willie Sharper, III (Bobbie); daughters: Constance Roundtree, Janice Hayes, (Supt. Paul E., II), Sharon Pierre (Min. Felix), Jennifer Miller (Min Hugh); grandchildren: Randel, Tony, Reggie, Corey, Timothy, LeShun, Johnny, Vanice, Dominique, Alexandria, Niccole, Marshanna; great granddaughters: Zeniah and Brianna; a host of other family and friends. www.rjgainousfuneralhome.com.
