Jack Gilbert, 90, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away June 7, 2012 at Grand Oaks Nursing Home in Palm Coast. A graveside service will take place in New London, CT. All arrangements are under the careful directions of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, and Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, New London, CT. Jack was born Casper "Sonny" Alfiero on October 10, 1921 in New London, CT., to the late Joseph and Antonette Alfiero. He proudly served in World War II in the United States Army. Jack worked as a Cosmetologist for many years, owning many successful hair salons in Hartford, CT. Jack was preceded in death by his brother George and sisters Rosily, Antoinette, and Nancy. He is survived by his brothers John Alfiero of Ohio, Joseph Alfiero Jr. of Connecticut. Antonio (Flora Mauro) Alfiero of Connecticut. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. For all that new him, remember him for the big dreamer he was. Jack's utmost dream was to one day own a dude ranch and a pizza restaurant. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
