Eleanor Askin, 91, of DeLand, FL passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 in DeLand, FL. She was born on December 18, 1920 in White Plains, NY. Eleanor was a member of the Women's Club of DeLand, volunteered at the Lutheran Center in DeLand, FL and enjoyed quilt making and needle point. She is survived by her sons, Richard Placek of Dunellon, FL, Craig Placek of Delancy, NY, Bruce Placek of Princeton, IL and Kieth Placek of Downs, FL; daughter, Christine Greene of Freemont, CA; and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, FL. Online condolences may be left at www.allensummerhillfuneralhome.com.
