Ramona Jean Waranitsky, age 84, of New Smyrna Beach, died Tuesday at
Hospice of Volusia /Flagler's Southeast Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a long-time resident of Seaford, New York then Fort Ann, New York, prior to moving to Palm Coast in 1994, and later to New Smyrna Beach. A homemaker, Mrs. Waranitsky was a member of the Lutheran Faith. Her interests included her cats, calligraphy, and court shows on television. Survivors include her husband, John; two daughters, Lynn (Paul) Betournay of New Smyrna Beach, and Jean (Michael) O'Brien, of Farmingdale, New York; three grandchildren, Krista (Michael) Shanley of Stafford Township, New Jersey, Michael (Lauren) O'Brien of North Massapequa, New York, and Sean (Jennifer) O'Brien of Massapequa, New York; and three great-grandchildren. Her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with Chaplain Linda Kemp-Baird, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, officiating. The family suggests memorials to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 for the Southeast Volusia Care Center.
