Funeral service for Robert "Bob" Warren Gardner, age 92, of New Smyrna Beach, who died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Coquina Cove Assisted Living Facility in Port Orange, will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with The Reverend Luke McKinney, officiating. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Calling hours will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8 at the funeral home. Born in Denver, Colorado, Mr. Gardner retired from the United States Navy, having served for 25-30 years, including World War II, Korea, and 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach, worked for Publix in New Smyrna Beach for over 12 years, and retired from Ruthy's Kozy Kitchen in Edgewater. Survivors include one son, James Warren Gardner and his wife, Cina; one daughter, Deborah Gail Gardner; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step-son, Joseph Felthoff and his wife Barbara; and four step-grandchildren. Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley. Memorial donations in Mr. Gardner's name may be made to any homeless children in New Smyrna Beach. Condolences may be made online at
