Joseph Ciccio died at home with loved ones by his side in Clarksville, Tennessee, October 30, 2013. He was born November 30, 1919 in Wolcott, Connecticut to Gaetano and Gracia Lombardo. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel (Surrett) in 1999 having celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1997. He was predeceased by two brothers, Sal and Andy, and 2 sisters, Vivian Leone and Josie Montilla. He leaves to mourn his death his sister Angle Rosa and brother Frank Ciccio, as well as several nieces and nephews in CT, FL and MI. Joe was employed by Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. He retired in 1965 when he and Hazel moved from Detroit to Deland, FL. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the choir for several years. One of his lifelong enjoyments was singing. He was a member of the Great Expectations Choral Group which gave him great pleasure. He sang his last song, The National Anthem, during the Red Sox game on Sunday, October 27th. He is lovingly remembered by his personal companion, Jean and her many family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Deland Chapel, 935 East New York Avenue Deland, FL. A Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11:00am at Deland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 600 E. Beresford Avenue, Deland.
