Shiela J. Morgan, 89, Winter Park, a former longtime New Smyrna Beach resident, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Morgan was born in Cleveland, OH and moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1956 from Willoughby, OH. She relocated to Winter Park in 1974. In 1960, she was the first administrator at Sacred Heart Catholic School, New Smyrna Beach and held that position for eight years. In 1969 she founded the first Early Childhood Development Center also in New Smyrna Beach and that same year was appointed by former Sheriff Ed Duff to serve as special deputy for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. Survivors include one son, John Henry (Jan) Morgan of Winter Park; two daughters, Morgan Samuel Price of Altamonte Springs and Charlene (Larry) Blanchette of Ft. Pierce; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 8 PM Friday, February 21, 2014 with a Wake service at 7:30 PM at Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P.O. Box 729, New Smyrna Beach 32170.
