Funeral services for Ms. Carolynn Scott, 46, Daytona Beach who passed on Thursday, March 20, 2014 will be 10 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home, Inc. with Supt. Derek Harris, Pastor, delivering the main eulogy. Calling hours will be from 5 – 8:30 PM, today (Fri, Apr 4) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 8:30 AM until service time at the chapel on Saturday. Ms. Scott was the daughter of Raymond Thayer, Sr. and the late Georgia Wimberly. She attended the public schools of Volusia County and was a student at Daytona State College. She was employed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She was a homemaker and her favorite pastime was witnessing to whomever came in her presence, letting everyone know how great her God is. Her favorite passage of scripture was: "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh truly rich and addeth no sorrow to it" (Proverbs 10:22). Ms. Scott leaves to cherish her memory, her father: Raymond Thayer, Sr.; 2 sons: Michael Johnson (Elise) and James Griggs; a granddaughter: Desserae Johnson, all of Daytona Bch; 3 brothers: Artis Scott (Sandra), Raymond Thayer, Jr. (Francine), Jacksonville, Florida, Fred McCaskill, Texas; 3 sisters: Chequetta Lord, Mary Thayer and Ramona Wilson, all of Daytona Bch; a special cousin: Surbrina Thayer; a very special friend: Lavonne Few-Lewis and a host of uncles, aunts, 7 nieces, 8 nephews, other relatives, loving cousins and friends.
