Rita M. (Dunn) Ferguson, 90, of Ponce Inlet, Fla, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2014. She was born in Medford, Massachusetts in 1924 to the late Edward and Marion Dunn. As a devoted employee of AT&T for 35 years, she worked in the Telegraph Department with the Sputnik monitoring, served as a telephone operator, worked in the Human Resources department, and retired at age 55. Rita loved to travel and explore the different countries of the world. She had visited every country except China and Japan. She enjoyed taking cruises, playing Bridge, as well as dancing. One of her favorite past times was spending time with family and friends. Rita is preceded in death by siblings: Charles Dunn, Marion English, Gertrude Cormier, and Edward Dunn Jr., also her daughter Donna Catalano. Left to cherish her memory are sister, Alice Snipes, and her children: son, Stanley and wife Kathy Skrabut and daughter, Joyce and husband Salvatore Giglio; grandchildren: Lisa Spinetti, Maria Elena Wallace, Ronnie Catalano, Tara Stone and Phillip Skrabut; great grandchildren: Jessica Spinetti, Anthony Spinetti, Dax Catalano, Abigail Stone and Matthew Stone. A memorial visitation will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, on Monday, April 21st from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A service will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 22nd beginning at 9:00 a.m. An internment will follow the service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. promptly at 1:00 p.m.
