Funeral services for Mr. Willie B. Cooks "Pops", 75, Daytona Beach, who passed on Friday, April 11, 2014, will be 2 PM Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Mt. Mission Missionary Baptist Church with Min. David Strapp, Pastor, presiding and Elder Raymond Carswell, delivering the main eulogy. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 PM, today (Fri, Apr 18) at Mt. Mission Missionary Baptist Church and from 12:30 PM until service time at the church on Saturday. Willie was born May 22, 1938 to the late Mr. J.D. and Mrs. Victoria Cooks. He was educated in the Decatur County Public Schools. Willie relocated to Daytona Beach, where he met, pursued, and married his loving and beautiful wife of 37 years, the late Mrs. Easter Mae Paulk Cooks. Willie was a member of the Mt Mission Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of his passing, Willie was a source of strength and support for his children and grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed reading his Bible, spending time with family and friends, playing cards and chess, and sharing words of wisdom and encouragement to anyone. Willie Leaves to cherish his memory, 3 devoted sons: Willie B. Cooks, Jr. (Ruth Ann), Victor Tyrone Cooks (Corliss), all of Daytona Bch, FL, and Anthony Lamar Cooks, Sr. (Meggon), Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren, Shantoria Cooks, Shantrice Cooks, and Victor Cooks, all of Daytona Beach, FL, Cierra Cooks and Anthony Cooks, Jr. both of Orlando, FL; a great grandson: Aubrey Brant, a goddaughter: Giovanni L. Smith, Daytona Beach, FL; a sister-in-law: Mattie Pearl Wilson, Holly Hill, FL; 2 brother-in-laws: Johnnie Wilson, Sr., and Deacon Arthur Lee Paulk, Jr., Daytona Beach, FL; three aunts: Mrs. Lillie Pearl Kelly, Cairo, GA; Dorothy B. Brown, Daytona Beach, FL; and Elizabeth Brown, Daytona Beach, FL; and a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; far and near.
