Edward Lee Dyall, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully with family at his side on April 18, 2014. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127. Edward came from a pioneer family with a long history in Florida dating back to the 1800's. After Pearl Harbor, Edward enlisted in the United States Navy and served during World War II on the battleship, USS Idaho from 1941 to 1945. Following his service, Edward was a long hull truck driver. He later worked in construction and assisted in building the Florida turnpike. He then worked for Halifax paving and built roads all over Volusia County. Edward is preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Edward L. Dyall, Jr., Patsy Dyall; sister, Katherine Parker; grandchildren, Blake Edward Dyall, Staff Sgt. United States Army, Christopher Lee Dyall, Edward Lee Dyall III, Rebekah Lynn Dyall, Sarah Michelle Dyall; great-granddaughter, Abiel Dyall.
