Shirley Leverne Surrency Futch, age 73, passed away April 19, 2014 while living as a resident of Indigo Manor of Daytona Beach, FL due to declining health since suffering a major stroke in 2010. She was born December 30, 1940 in Clewiston, FL. She leaves behind her life partner of 47 years, Thomas W. (Butch) Futch; daughter, Joyce Lee Weaver of Morongo Valley, CA; son, John Carlyle Langfels and wife Ali of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Brenda Sue Hamilton and her husband Steve of Cynthiana, KY; and youngest child, David Bryan West of Daytona Beach, FL. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom she expressed great affection for. She is survived by her brother, Wilford Carlyle, Jr and his wife, Maggie; sister Wilma Jean Lambert and her husband, Cleon; sister Patricia Ann Chaney; sister Carla Marie Jarosz and her husband, George; sister Christal Lori Caso and her husband, Michael as well as six nephews and eight nieces. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Wilford Carlyle (Carl) Surrency, Sr. and Nettie Pearl Norton Surrency; her sister Judy Carlene Grubbs; her own oldest child, Nettie Frances Langfels and her son-in-law, Eddie Weaver. A note of special thanks goes out to the staff of Indigo Manor for their diligent care in the special needs of Shirley. As a family, we also want to thank Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia / Flagler for the love and tenderness demonstrated to both Shirley and her family during the last difficult time of her life.
