Dorothy P. McCollum, 89, Ormond Beach, passed away on April 19, 2014. She was born in Blakely, GA in 1924 to the late Rufus and Jesse Vera Pounds. She moved to Florida as a young child and out of High School accepted a job with Southern Bell. After working with the company for 41 years, she happily retired and enjoyed living along the Halifax River. She was also a former president and proud member of the Pioneers. Dorothy is preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Palmer B. "Cullen" McCollum; sister, Annie P. White; and brothers, Thomas Eugene Pounds and William H. Pounds. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother-in-law, Walter White Sr.; nephew, Walter White Jr. (Brenda); and nieces, Barbara Eubank (Howard), Edna McGee (W.A.), and Linda Miller as well as many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach on Wednesday April 23 at 3:00 pm.
