Stephen F. Cahill, age 72, of New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia / Flagler, Port Orange. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Cahill founded and owned a business that took him nationwide installing specialized convention and trade show displays. An animal lover, he also enjoyed golfing, living on the water, and never-ending house projects. Survivors include two children, Stephen J. (Sandy) Cahill of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Christa (Bill) Cavanaugh of Philadelphia; two stepchildren, Jay Merino of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lucas (Brooke) Martinez of Edgewater; and nine grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, and Lakin Cahill, Seth and Katie Cavanaugh, Korrin, Kyra, and Kalli Martinez, and Braden Merino. Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with Chaplain Mark Spivey, officiating. Memorial donations in Mr. Cahill's name may be made to Southeast Volusia Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168.
