Gina Lynn (Webb) Valentine, 58, of New Smyrna Beach, died April 4, 2014. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 23, 1955. Gina is survived by her daughter, Valerie Terese Valentine of New Smyrna Beach, grandson Robert "Daithon" Brown IV of New Smyrna Beach, soul mate and best friend, Milford W. Valentine of New Smyrna Beach, domestic partner of 7 years, Kathleen S. Grice of New Smyrna Beach, mother Mary Ann (Harris) Moore of Sun City Center, Florida, two sisters, Yvonne (Webb) Knicker, and Kristi Webb, both of Parker, Colorado. She is also survived by numerous family and friends, including her nephews Tyler and Chris, and niece Hollie. She was predeceased by her father, Walter Webb, and a brother who she adored, Walter "Bobby" Webb, Jr. Gina was a graduate of the University of Missouri, and held a master's degree in social work. She was a licensed clinical social worker and had a thriving practice in Daytona Beach for many years. She always gave back to the community and many times offered her services free of charge for those at need of mental health assistance. Gina also worked for hospice the final years of her life; she was a great supporter of the hospice philosophy and felt very strongly about carrying out their mission statement. Gina spent time with the veterans of the VFW Post 4250 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and was well known there for a laugh and a kind shoulder. Gina loved spending time with her grandson and family; she loved roller coasters and was always the life and light of the party. She was well known for her smile, her kindness, and wanted to be remembered for the comfort she brought to those surrounding her. Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 1pm, at 2596 Shilo Glynn Lane, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168. It is open to all of her friends and family, and any clients that might want to share in the joy that was her life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gina's name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
