Paul A. Harris, age 70, of Port Orange, Florida, left us suddenly on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014, in the chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home, Port Orange at 3:00 pm, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida, 32127. The family will receive friends for a gathering one hour prior to the service. Paul will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Eastlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio under the care of Graumlich Funeral Services. Paul was born on January 27, 1944 in Ithaca, New York to Vola Allen Harris and Lorin Harris. He graduated from Utah State University in 1966 with a degree in Accounting. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He also was a member of the National Guard. Paul was a "Jack of all Trades" and could do anything to which he put his mind. He held many careers throughout his life, including investor, contractor, stock broker and co-owner of a manufacturing company. In his free time Paul enjoyed flying, golfing, biking, skiing, wake boarding, sailing and being with his beloved family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vola Allen Harris and Lorin Harris, and brother, Richard Harris. Survivors include his loving wife, Janet S. Harris, Port Orange, Florida; children, Jay Harris, San Francisco, California, Beau (Katherine) Harris, Windsor Vermont, Parker Harris, Seattle, Washington; step-children, Jennifer (Dan) Davia, Erie Colorado, Jeff (Deysha) Hicks, Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kieli Davia, Lauren Davis, Fiona Davia, Tyller Hicks, Emmalee Hicks; sisters, Julie (Jonathan) Bullen, Park City, Utah, Lorraine (Paul) Randle, Logan, Utah; sister-in-law Nancy (George) Carrico, Groveport, Ohio; many nieces and nephews, and friends. Memorial donations can be made in Paul's memory to the Halifax Humane Society at 2364 W LPGA Boulevard, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32124, or at www.halifaxhumanesocitey.org.
