Peggy Deanne Alexander left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was born to Clarence and Deanne Alexander on December 22, 1942. She is survived by son, Jarrett Alexander Gornto, son, Bradford Boone Gornto and daughter-in-law Cindy Gornto; grandsons, Bryce Alexander Gornto, Owen Isaac Gornto and Joel Andrew Gornto, and granddaughter, Daisy Grace Gornto; and brother, Clarence "Butch" Alexander. She graduated from Berrien High School in Nashville, GA in 1960, and Valdosta State College with a B.S. in Education in 1964. After teaching elementary education for several years, she became a devoted homemaker to raise her two sons. Peggy was an avid tennis player and fan, and she organized and managed many youth tennis tournaments throughout the Central Florida area. She went back to college to obtain an M.A. in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Peggy loved the Lord her entire life and found great joy in studying His Word and being a "prayer warrior" for her family. She was most recently a member of Riverbend Community Church in Ormond Beach, where she was actively involved in her Bible Fellowship Group and an assistant Sunday school teacher for the 2 year old children. Peggy's favorite activity was spending time with her 4 grandchildren, who affectionately called her, "Da." A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Riverbend Community Church in Ormond Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverbend Community Church, 2080 W.
