Funeral Services for Mr. Harold King, 64, Daytona Beach, who passed on Monday, June 2, 2014 will be 10 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Daytona Deliverance Church of God, with Elder Levester
Tillman, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:30-7:30 PM, today (Fri, June 6) at Daytona Deliverance COG and from 8:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mr. King was born on Oct. 17, 1949 in Dothan, AL to the late Hubert and Josephine King. In 1954 his family relocated to Daytona Bch where he attended the public schools. He worked as a store clerk for Ivey's Department store until its closing and later was employed by John Hall Chevrolet for over 15 years in the detail department and later Glen Ritchey Auto. After his retirement, Harold, along with his brother Bobby (who preceded him in death), started their own private car detailing business. Harold retired and Bobby continued the business which was later known as "King's Personal Touch." Harold obeyed the Gospel of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Janie L. Rogers. He was a faithful servant of Freewill Holiness Church where he was ordained as a deacon and served as the Lead Musician for over 35 years. Harold had a vibrant love for music; especially playing the guitar. He was a well renowned Lead Guitarist for local gospel group, The Mighty Gospel Keys and Lead musician at Freewill Holiness Church. Harold's love and talent for music caused him to further share his gift by teaching guitar and drum lessons to those interested in his family, the church, and the community. Preceding him in death were his parents & grandmother: Vessie Lee Keener; 3 brothers, John Walter King, Sr., Hubert Earl King, Sr., & Bobby Charles King. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, a loving & devoted wife: Mattie King; 2 daughters: Chyanna King, West Palm Bch, FL & Diedra King, Daytona Bch, FL; 2 sisters: Joann Turner & Theresa Horn (Gregory), all of Daytona Bch; 1 brother: Scott King (Melissa), Germantown, MD; 4 step-children: Brenda Jenkins-Malloy (Mike) Boynton Bch, FL; Gwen Robinson-Weatherspoon, Raleigh, NC; Mark Robinson (Shawanda), Daytona Bch & Marshall Robinson, Boynton Bch, FL; 6 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & relatives including, aunts & uncles: Merdine & Willie C. Howard, Ralph King, Vernetta King & Bertha Cummings, Blanche King, all of Daytona Bch, along with his entire church family at Freewill Holiness Church and all of his music students.
