A graveside service for Esther Caplan, who died on June 21, 2014, at her residence in Ormond Beach, FL, will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, White Street, Daytona Beach, with Rabbi Stephen Stein officiating. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Caplan moved to this area 40 years ago from her birthplace. After moving to the Daytona area, she became a sales associate at Dillard's Department Store at Volusia Mall, and remained for over 30 years. Esther was an active member of Temple Beth-El and was very devoted to her family and friends. In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations be made to Temple Beth-El, 579 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Esther was predeceased by her husband, Norman, in 1993. Survivors include her son and his wife, David Leon Caplan and Linda of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Martha Epstein, Delray Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Carole Webb (Dan) and Daniel Caplan; two great grandchildren, Lucas Webb and Benny Webb; numerous nieces and nephews.
