Andrew "Andy" Lawrence Ringers, 76, of New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 23, 2014. Andy was born on July 8, 1937 in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Ringers. He graduated from Palm Beach High School and Palm Beach Junior College. Andy was a member of the United States Navy and served during the Cold War, leaving the service after 3 ½ years as a LTJG. Prior to graduating from Florida State, Andy met his wife, Kathryn Johns. The two were married on January 21, 1962 in Winter Park, FL. Together they had 2 wonderful children, Larry and Lynne. Andy went on to Stetson University College of Law, J.D. '69, and became a board-certified member of the Florida Bar. He continues to be remembered and revered for his preeminent lawyering skills by colleagues, opponents, and presiding officers alike. He set a precedent in his profession which his children benefit from to this day. A devoted husband, loving and instructive father, and a doting grandfather, Andy had a quick, biting wit and a uniquely appealing personality that delighted those fortunate to know and love him. Andy was preceded in his passing by his parents and brother, Doug. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathryn of New Smyrna Beach, FL; son Larry Ringers (Margaret) of Tallahassee, FL; daughter Lynne Ringers of Orlando, FL; and Grandchildren Madeline and Kyle. A Celebration of Andy's Life will take place on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00am at Baldwin Fairchild Apopka Chapel, 601 N. Park Ave., Apopka, FL 32712.
