Funeral Service for Mrs. Betty Lee Jeanette Delegol Davis, 86, Ormond Beach, who transit-ioned peacefully on June 26, 2014, will be 11 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeffrey Robinson, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5-8:30 PM today (Fri, July 4) RJ Gainous Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM and from 9:30 until service time at the church on Saturday. Mrs. Davis was born and raised in Ormond Beach, FL, to the late William and Liza (Gilbert) Delegol on August 31, 1927. She attended Rigby School of Ormond Beach, FL. She was affiliated with the old St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Ormond Beach, FL and New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Daytona Beach, FL. On September 27, 1946, she married the love of her life, David H. Davis. To this union, eleven children were born. Betty and David were happily married for over 61 years before God called David home. She was employed in hospitality and domestic service. Betty was truly dedicated to helping those in the Greater Daytona Beach community. She also volunteered with God's Little Angels, founded by Mary Barrs. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Betty is survived by: Delores Davis-Sloan (Jimmy), Ocala, William "Bill" Davis, Daytona Beach, Leonnard Davis (Princess), Daytona Beach, Sharon Davis-Drummond (Leaford), Tampa, Krisita Davis-Edwards (Willie), Oldsmar, Robert "Pete" Davis, Palm Coast, Anthony "Tony" Davis, Ormond Beach, Michael Davis (Glenetta), Valrico, and Velda Davis-Arnold (Ernest), Atlanta, GA.
