Ryoko "Rikki" Davis Vurpillat, passed away peacefully with her husband, Jerry Vurpillat, by her side at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL on June 29, 2014. Born 1938 in Toronto, Canada, Rikki attended McGill University in Montreal graduating with a BS degree in Microbiology. She worked in Philadelphia, PA for 10 years at Jefferson Medical School where she did medical research for the Dept. of Pediatrics. She later accepted a position for Smith Kline French for further medical research. Rikki's spirit for travel soon found her seeking warmer climates where she began her travels further south to the Bahamas, Caribbean and Grenada before relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. There she established her own successful global yacht charter firm "Rikki Davis Yachts" specializing in retail charters of large motor yachts. Rikki was an icon in the industry for over 30 years, being one of the pioneers in the world of yacht charters. Her unique ability was known internationally throughout the charting world and she quickly became one of the most successful independent luxury charter brokers on the globe. Rikki traveled many oceans aboard some of the finest charter yachts and she assisted clientele from all corners of the globe including corporate executives, entertainment celebrities and royalty. Rikki earned every bit of success she enjoyed and she made the most of every minute. When she wasn't cruising the exotic areas of the world or golfing, she was a devoted wife and animal lover. Rikki is survived by Jerry Vurpillat, her devoted husband of 14 years and 2 sisters, Yo and Hannah from Toronto. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S, Flagler Beach, FL 386-439-5400.
