Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeannett M. Brandon, 88, Daytona Beach, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014, will be 11 AM, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park South. Calling hours are from 5-8 PM, today (Mon, July 7) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until service time at the Funeral Home on Tuesday. Jeannett was born to Julia and Herbert Madison on May 7, 1926 in Luray, Virginia. She loved people and having fun, talking and exchanging stories. Jeannett loved to play bingo and even played the scratch off bingo games. She consistently won the big prize money. Even though she did not graduate from High School, she still emphasized education to her daughter and her numerous nieces and nephews. After leaving Luray, Virginia in her mid-teen years, she spent approximately forty years in New York where she worked in the hotel industry. She returned to Virginia where she lived in Manassas and Richmond for approximately six years. She moved to Daytona Beach in 1993 and continued to work in the hotel industry until 1996. Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Herbert, Jr., Bertram and Lindy; four sisters: Delia, Vivian, Rosy and Mary. She leaves to cherish her memory, her longtime companion and friend: Mark Stroupe; a daughter: Nydra Sanders (Willie C); a sister: Catherine Ray and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
