Thomas C. Weldon, 82, a native of Lexington, KY passed away on July 9 at a local care center. Mr. Weldon moved to Daytona Beach from Winchester, Kentucky when he was 14 years old. He graduated from Seabreeze High School, before continuing his education at Stetson University. Thomas interrupted his education to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. After serving, he picked up where he left off and obtained his Bachelors and his Masters degrees from Stetson. He and his wife have lived in DeLand for over 50 years, coming from Ft. Myers. He retired after more than 25 years as an educator, teaching Western Civilization and History at Seminole Community College. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Audree, his devoted daughters, Elizabeth & Robert Clayton of Florida and Katherine & Jordan Naab of DeLand and his grandchildren, Bryce Naab and Kyndall Clayton. At Thomas' request there will be no formal service and the family has indicated that memorials may be made in his memory to the Stetson University duPont-Ball Library, 421 N. Woodland Blvd., Unit 8418, DeLand, FL 32723 or to the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic in DeLand, 136 East Plymouth Avenue, DeLand, Florida 32724.
