Billy Gibson Hickox, 63, of DeLand, passed away August 1, 2014 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia / Flagler Care Center in Orange City. He was born in DeLand on January 28, 1951 and was a lifetime resident. Billy was a painter and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hickox; children Heather Nix (Chance) and Billy Hickox, Jr. (Lindsay); mother Catherine Hickox; grandchildren Hailey, Savannah, Courtney, Cody and Logan; sisters Marie Sikes and Debo McLaughlin; brother Ronnie Hickox; sisters-in-law; Deb Coffman, Andrea Theis, Pam Tober, Cookie Workman, Paula Workman, Michelle Workman; brothers-in-law; Dennie Workman, Ricky Workman, Mike Workman, David Theis, Jerry Tober. And additional survivors Billy, Brent, and Michael Workman, Tommy, Paul, Troy, Jason, Theresa-Lynn, Christy, Melissa, Megan, Wendy, Richard, Holly and Michael Hickox, Jed, Daphne, Bridget and Emily. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 5th at 9am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made in Billy's name to the Good Samaritan, 136 E. Plymouth Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Online condolences may be made at www.allensummerhillfuneralhome.com.
