Edward Maurice Bostic was born on January 31, 1934 in Sanford, the son of the late Beatrice and William Bostic. He later moved to DeLand where he was educated in Volusia County Schools. At age 17, Edward enrolled in the United States Air Force. He went on to work for the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and retired after 29 years. Edward had many interests, and fishing was a favorite. Edward leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter, Rhonda Taylor of Fort Mill, SC, sons Larry Bostic and Alonzo Maurice Bostic of Spartanburg, SC; his step-son, Broderick Gordon, Sr. of DeLand, FL; his step-daughters, Gwendolyn Bostic of Jacksonville, FL, and Veronica Bostic of DeLand, FL. Edward will be missed by his brother Robert Black of Yeadon, PA; his sisters Annette Nealy of DeLand, FL and Margaret R. Montgomery of Rochester, NY; and his cousin Thomas Williams of DeLand, FL. Also remembering Edward will be his son-in-law, Richard Taylor; grand daughters, Kayla and Kaitlyn Taylor and Frances Bostic; his grandsons Derrick Bostic and Demonte Williams. His life will be celebrated 11am Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Ruth Cusack Chapel of Cusack Mortuary. Visitation will be today (Sunday) from 5pm-7pm and Monday from 10am until service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow the services in Union Cemetery.
