Bernadette Dymond Martin, 65, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2014. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Blake Memorial Baptist Church, 134 N Euclid Ave, Lake Helen, FL 32744 followed by interment at Daytona Memorial Park, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach FL 32114. Bernadette was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1948. At a very young age, Bernadette's family moved to Lake Helen, Florida. Twelve years later, Bernadette relocated to Daytona Beach and later returned to Lake Helen in 2001. In the early 1990's Bernadette retired from Martin-Marietta and she then obtained her real estate license and was a realtor for over 25 years. She enjoyed playing tennis, loved the beach, the mountains, and traveling. Bernadette was a devoted member of Blake Memorial Baptist Church, she would host a prayer breakfast at her home every Wednesday for the past 7 years. She was known as a very outgoing person; she never met a stranger and loved her family unconditionally. Bernadette is preceded in death by her brother Donald Hartley and sister, Marjorie Hartley. Those left to cherish Bernadette's memory are her husband Ronald Martin; son, Chris Dymond; brother, Charles Hartley of Bartow, Florida; sister, Glenna (Buddy) Christ; step-children, Stephen (Julie) Martin, Shelley Szafraniec, Sean (Johanna) Martin, Scott (Stephanie) Martin; 12 step-grandchildren.
