Carolyn Frisbie Obituary

Carolyn Ann Frisbie of Palm Coast, Florida was called home to God on Friday, January 29, 2016. Carolyn was an active member and Deacon of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, and a founding member of the Community Chorus of Palm Coast. Ms. Frisbie spent all of her career working in Higher Education. First as an administrative assistant for the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois, then as an Executive Administrative Assistant for Dr. David J. Skorton (currently the 13th Secretary of the Smithsonian Institute) at the University of Iowa. Carolyn ended her career directing the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Iowa. She was born Carolyn Ann Bowman in Seymour, Illinois on September 21, 1941 to Carroll and Jessie Bowman who have preceded her in death, along with her sister Linda Simonds. She is survived by her sister Laura Kay Rentz (also of Palm Coast), her daughters Kelly Strode of Mahomet, Illinois and Lori Preston of Virginia Beach, Virginia, granddaughters Jessica, Amanda, and Sarah, and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive N., Palm Coast FL. The family appreciates any donations in Carolyn's honor be made to The Trinity Presbyterian Church of Palm Coast, or The Community Chorus of Palm Coast.
