James A. Seery, 66, DeLand, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center, Orange City. Born in Newton, MA he moved to the area in 2000 from Plymouth, MA. He graduated from Malden High School in Malden, MA in 1961 and was a 1965 graduate of Lowell Tech in Lowell, MA. He received his master's degree in 1965 from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Mr. Seery worked on the first nuclear plant in the U.S. located in Arizona and was a Nuclear Engineer at the Pilgrim Nuclear Plant in Plymouth, MA from 1968-1999. He was an amazing gardener and loved to be in his boat or spending a vacation on or near the water. He is survived by his wife of five years, Laura Lee Nissle; son, Jim A. Seery, Jr., Cambridge, MA; daughters, Donna (Evan) Schneider, Pepperell, MA and Gail Brooks, Milford, CT; step-son, Jonathon (Darlene) Wadkins, Ft. Stewart, GA; step-daughter, Lisa Cavallo, North Hollywood, CA; brother, Jack (Marjorie) Greene, Zanesville, OH; sisters, Andrea Ambogne, Stoneham, MA, Debbie (Franc) Ramono, Littleton, MA and Janice (Mike) Lee, Tyron, GA; grandchildren, Samuel, Amanda, Bailey, Carson, Ryder, Rio and Cade; and Popeye, the Maine Coon Cat. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lifepoint Community Church in DeLand with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. A reception will follow at the church after the service.
