A Memorial Service for Raymond W. Butler, 72, of Ormond Beach, who passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Emory L. Bennett Veterans Memorial Nursing Home, 1920 Mason Avenue, Daytona Beach. Raymond W. Butler was born on March 20, 1937 in Endicott, NY to the late Clark and Eleanor Butler. He retired as Master Chief in November 1981 after serving 26 years in the Coast Guard. After his retirement he was employed as a prison guard for many years in Bucks Harbor, Maine. He moved to this area in July 2001 from Maine. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Kiwanis Club in TX, The Lions Club in Maine, The Sportsman's Club in Maine and the Jaycees Club in TX. He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting and Nascar. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Irene; three sons, Mark of Norwich, CT, Brian of Windham, Maine, and Paul of Nashua, NH; one daughter, Janine Gramlich of Cutler, Maine; three brothers, Clifford, Roger, and Carlton of NY; two sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Deborah Tegler of NY; and six grandchildren. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
