Funeral Service for Donald Anderson, 85, of South Daytona, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the Port Orange Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. til the Service begins at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow the services in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. Donald Anderson passed away on July 8, 2010 at the S.E. Hospice Volusia Care Center in Edgewater, FL. He was born on June 14, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving during World War II and then retired from "Consumer Power" in Michigan. Donald was a member of the Spruce Creek East Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses in New Smyrna Beach, the DAV #81 in Holly Hill, FL, the VFW in New Smyrna Beach, Scottish Rite 33rd degree, and Northwood Masonic Lodge #551. He loved to tinker and repair things. Survivors include his six daughters, Donna Vann of Edgewater, FL, Charlene Taylor of Eagle, Alaska, Carol Hoh of Oscoda, Michigan, Denise Golden of Hazel Park, Michigan, Dorene Kepes of Clawson, Michigan and Connie Parker of Holton, Michigan; brother, Art Anderson of Center Line, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Anderson and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange.
