Vernon Noechel passed away on Nov. 14, 2010 at the age of 81. He is survived by his niece, Virginia "Ginny" Haddas; and grand nephew, Brent (Lillian) Haddas. Vernon was born in Joliet, IL on May 9, 1929 and was raised in Manhattan, IL. He attended Joliet Township High School and graduated with a BA in accounting from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy in the payroll dept. in Washington, D.C. Vernon was employed as an accountant for U.S. Gypsum and Amoco in Chicago and Dan Wallace Law Firm in Daytona Beach. After retiring to Ormond Beach, he enjoyed the natural beauty of the area, the symphony and the arts. Vernon appreciated the love and kindness from his friends and a special thank you to Halifax Health Hospice North Home Team. A private gathering in Vernon's memory was held Nov. 17, 2010 Interment will be held in Manhattan, IL.
