Robert E. Miles of Palm Coast passed away in his sleep on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the age of 84. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie M. (Beyer); daughter, Laura M. Frushone; and her children, Jennifer, Steven, and Kaylyn of Tampa; son, John A. Miles and his wife, Jolee; and children, Rachel and Gregory of Orlando; sister, Lois Kidder of Buffalo, NY; and three nephews and their families in various cities. Bob was born in Buffalo, NY, on January 31, 1927, as the youngest child of Earl F. and Jamesina (Smith) Miles who preceded him in death. He earned his degree in Accounting at the University of Buffalo and worked in the accounting and tax fields for more than 60 years. Bob and his family moved to Palm Coast in 1980 when he relocated to serve as Comptroller of the Wittemann Company, Inc. He was actively involved in several bridge clubs (both duplicate and marathon), the Christian Science Society, and was a member of Sirius Sunshine F&AM Lodge No. 402 in Bunnell. Some of Bob's favorite times were spent traveling with his wife, playing bridge and poker with friends, tending his rosebushes, watching college football, and playing cards and swimming with his five grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service and light reception will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at the Flagler Women's Club at 1524 S. Central Avenue in Flagler Beach.
