EDWARD "JED" EUGENE CARTER - In the early hours of August 26th, Edward "Jed" Eugene Carter passed away in Holly Hill, Florida. He was a dedicated and amazing Father, Friend to many, and Brother. A staple in Daytona Beach of over a decade, Jed had an open door policy for friends and family, often the center of activity for kids and parents alike. He always took in "stray people" much like his Mother loved to take in stray cats. He always believed in the best of everyone and always gave them that lift so they felt that they could do it. He will be sorely missed by all. Jed leaves behind his beloved children - Joshua of Washington and daughters, Nicole, Marissa, and Lindsey of Holly Hill. Jed also leaves behind the following brothers and sisters: David Carter of Washington, Kelly Carter of Daytona Beach, Lorrie Carter of Kenai, Alaska, Carol Miller of Kennewick, Washington, Barbi Buchanan, Thurston, Oregon, Aunt Roselee & husband Lucky Martinez in Texas, Crystal Elder of Washington, Ben Elder of Washington, D'arcy Elder-Centeno of Washington, Felisha Arden of Washington, Marina Elder of New York and his niece Sierra Haman, Meredith Sweeney of Arizona and Dan Elder of Washington as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout the United States. Jed was preceded in death by his mother Gerda Carter, father and namesake Edward Eugene Elder, stepfather Leonard Carter, brothers Will & Jared Elder and the mother of his son Susan Harestad. As Jed was always putting everyone else before himself the family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to www.Helpthecarters.com to assist the daughters for their future. A Celebration of Jed's Life will be held Friday, September 2nd, 7pm at: The Brig, 710 E International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach.
