Mary Lois Moore, age 86, of St. Augustine, died on November 25, 2011 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring surrounded by her family. She was born and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville and Orange Park, FL having moved there in 1958. She had lived in Palm Coast since 2002 and recently moved to St. Augustine. She worked for much of her life as a buyer in the woman's fashion industry, first for French Novelty Store and later for J.C. Penney. She enjoyed a second career working in customer service for Southeast Bank and most recently worked at the Y.M.C.A. in Palm Coast. She was a member of Highlands Baptist Church. Lois was a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl May and husband Jerry of St. Augustine, Sandra Diane McClendon and husband Carl of Hilliard; a son, Jerry Moore of Palm Coast; sisters, Maggie Leona Jones of St. Augustine, Dorothy Ann Peters and husband William of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Ray Moore, and a granddaughter, Jennifer May. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28th, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Sides officiating. A visitation, beginning at 10:00 a.m. will preceed the service. A committal service and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park.
