He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary and graduated as Valedictorian from Father Lopez High School, Daytona Beach. He went on to major in history at Vanderbilt and Stetson Universities, and obtained his M.D. Medical Doctorate from the Chicago Medical School. He interned in Jacksonville and took his training in neurology at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Ahmed was a skilled neurologist and has practiced in Volusia County for about 20 years. He was a staff member at Halifax Medical Center, and Ormond Memorial Medical Center, and was practicing at the Daytona Neurological Associates. He truly loved his work. Jeffrey was an avid reader and historian. Most of all, Jeff will be remembered as a person with a sparkly personality, and for his capacity to bring love, laughter and joy to the life of everyone he touched. He was never judgmental and was very generous to family and friends, especially around the holidays, which he loved. Jeff had a lively, witty sense of humor, and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with fun-loving impressions. He enjoyed model ship building, Star Trek, sailing, and traveling on long vacations in the Rocky Mountains with his family. His patients will remember him as a very knowledgeable, special, caring doctor. He is survived by his parents, Shafaat and Carol Ahmed, Daytona Beach; his three sisters, Naseem Smith of Denver, CO, Lori Blush of Monticello, FL, and Shehla (Victor) Milliron of Tallahassee, FL; by three brothers, Christopher (Anne) Ahmed of Dothan, AL, Sean, (Dawn) Ahmed of Ormond Beach, FL, and Mark (Lisa) Ahmed of Daytona Beach, FL; by his loving nephew, Christopher; and his three loving nieces, Noelle, Rachel and Sarah; as well as his favorite pet, Eli, the talking bird. Dear Dr. & Mrs. Ahmed & of course all brothers and sisters And many changes thru out the many years of knowing all of you as well as Dr. Jeffrey. I know how close you all were and how much you mean to each other now. Jeffrey loved his mother, father and his family too. He was a doting physician to all his patients. His caring for mankind still lingers to this day. He made his parents proud and a great example for all his brothers and sisters .Dr. Jeffrey was so smart and had the best personality. He never forgot a face or event. Jeffrey looks down today and makes us remember the simplicity of life. We had the perfect model to follow. YOU -Jeffrey

JEff, I think of you every day, sometimes laughing some times crying. Which upsets Baby Henri. Every time I call him that I remind him you gave him that nickname, and I remember how you'd say hi to him in all your cards.
I have the picture of us dancing at Chris' wedding above my fireplace. The world is diminished without you in it.
I miss you so much.

Jeff I think of you every day, sometimes laughing sometimes crying. Which then upsets Baby Henri. Every time I call him that, I remind him you gave him that nickname, and I remember how you always said hi to him in cards.
I have our picture dancing at Chris' wedding over my fireplace. The world is diminished without you in it. Miss you so much.

Hey Jeff. ...just remembering you and all your "crazy" voices. Eli says hello. He now has developed the saying "work work" and "what what". You always liked to know what Eli was doing and what new words he has come up with. Miss you, as we all (your family) do!

I am greatly saddened to read of Jeff's passing. He and I were students at Stetson University (DeLand, FL) at the same time and were both majoring in chemistry.

We were good friends and traveled around campus together, having many good conversations about many topics. We would challenge each other to spontaneous verbal quizzes about all things chemical - and he usually bested me over a series of quizzes in any given day.

I lost contact with him when he went on to medical school, but knew that he was going to practice medicine somewhere in the Daytona Beach area. Although I did not see him after he earned his MD degree, I had no doubt that he would be a very good doctor.

My sincere condolences go out to his family and all his patients that received great care from him.

Rest in peace, Jeff.

The Ahmed Family: Jeffrey is one of my many students over the years that I will never forget. I knew when he was a young man that he would be a credit to all around him and the world in which we live. He was a pleasure to know and a pleasure to teach. My condolences to your whole family, as the world has lost a valuable asset. I am sure he will be missed greatly.

Dear Dr.Ahmed & Carol and all of his siblings, nieces and nephews. I am so bereaved to hear of the loss of our Jeffrey. As I write with tears rolling down my face, I imagine just how you feel as I lost my son almost 2 years ago.
I was so blessed to see you grow up a a little boy, I saw you graduate, I saw you go to Vanderbilt University and then on to Chicago Medical. You were such a thoughtful, loving person with so much compassion for everyone you came in contact with.

Your family, all your brothers and sisters, friends, extended family and your patients will deeply miss you.

May God bless each of your during most difficult and trying time. Know that God will comfort you during this hour of need. May he turn your loss into comfort and peace.
To Dr. and Mrs. Ahmed
We will remember him often in thousand different ways

to the both of you.
I love all of you so much and always that God holds our future in his hands.
If you need me for anything. Please give me a call.
