Alice M. Lubke, 93, a longtime Daytona Beach area resident peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. She was born October 6, 1918 in Bayonne, New Jersey and moved to Daytona Beach with her husband George W Lubke, Jr during World War II; both worked at Welsh Convalescent Hospital (Halifax Hospital). She spent many years as a volunteer transcribing books for the Brail Society, was an accomplished piano player and even played for the entertainment of others the night before her passing. Alice was a sweet, kind hearted wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by: Her loving husband, George W Lubke, Jr. and longtime friend, Bill Reese. She is survived by: sister, Naomi Morris (Ernie) and family; daughter, Robin Welter (Ronnie); son, George "Bill" Lubke III (Julie); grandchildren: Tim Welter, Jeremy Welter (Bobbie Jo), Victoria Magruder (Bobby), Tammy Myers (Sean), Lucy Clark (Tom), Jacqie Stewart, Betty Bernard; 12 great-grandchildren & 6 great-great grandchildren.
