Funeral services for Mr. Donald James Blatch, 93, Marco Street, Daytona Beach, who passed Sunday, October 28, 2012, will be 10 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Sheffield delivering the eulogy. Interment will be in Daytona Memorial Park South. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8:30 PM today (Friday, November 2) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 8:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mr. Blatch was born in Port Salerno, Florida, September 17, 1919. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He attended Bethune-Cookman College in 1946. He attended Mary Karl Vocational School in 1967. He worked for Exxon and Quillian's Concrete. He was member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he served for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy in 1998. He is survived by three daughters: Velma Baker, Roseann Blatch, both of Daytona Beach and Donnie Ivey (Yonudia), Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: June Amoje, Robert Baker, Jr., Uriah Baker, Yatasha Etienne (Kenneth); eight great-grandchildren: a sister: Edith Flagg, New Jersey; devoted nephew and niece: William Blatch and Gussie Jones; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
