Josef Rittling, of Palm Coast, FL was born on August 17, 1923 in Csolnok, Hungary. He passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the age of 89 years. Josef worked for Myers Shoe Factory in Germany making leather shoes that attached to snow skis. He also designed orthopedic shoes for Dr. Scholls while living in Chicago, IL. Most recently, he was the owner of Mickey Shoe Service in Flagler Beach, FL, from where he retired. He is survived by his loving wife Anna Marie Rittling, of Palm Coast, FL; son, Anton J. Rittling and family of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, one residing in Ormond Beach, FL, and the other in Germany; two nieces in Ormond Beach, FL; one nephew in San Antonio, TX; as well as many other family members in Germany, Hungary, Belgian, and Florida. Josef and Anna celebrated 68 happy anniversaries together. Their most favorite anniversary was their 50th anniversary celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast, FL, where they are both members. Josef also enjoyed photography. A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Josef will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164.
